GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Project Portfolio Manager (PPM) will drive execution of Naterra’s innovation portfolio across skincare brands like Tree Hut, ensuring all product initiatives—from early-stage concepts to launch—are delivered on time, on budget, and aligned with brand strategies. The PPM will oversee the full lifecycle of product programs, maintain the master innovation calendar, and serve as the operational hub between Marketing, Product Development, Supply Chain, Creative, Finance, and Sales. This leader will have a team of project managers to support its function.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Lead the end-to-end project management of NPD (new product development) and innovation initiatives.
  • Own the centralized innovation pipeline, including project timelines, stage-gate milestones, and cross-functional checkpoints.
  • Coordinate inputs from Brand Marketing, Product Development, Finance, Packaging, Regulatory, and Supply Chain to ensure seamless execution.
  • Monitor project health to proactively identify risks, resolve bottlenecks, and escalate issues with data-driven recommended solutions.
  • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks and interdependencies across the innovation portfolio to protect timelines, budgets, and strategic outcomes
  • Track and report key KPIs including on-time launch rate, budget adherence, and project cycle time.
  • Develop and maintain project management tools, dashboards, and processes to optimize portfolio visibility and governance.
  • Partner with Finance and Sales to align on forecasting, budgeting, and launch planning for innovation initiatives.
  • Partner closely with Sales and Channel Marketing to ensure alignment of innovation timelines with retail calendars, merchandising windows, and promotional strategies
  • Align project selection and prioritization with corporate strategy, business objectives, and resource capacity.
  • Lead portfolio governance routines, including executive reviews, gating decisions, and project reprioritization.
  • Monitor resource allocation across functions and adjust project priorities based on capacity constraints and evolving business needs.
  • Continuously evaluate and optimize the portfolio mix to reflect changes in strategy, market dynamics, and resource availability.
  • Manage a small team to lead new product and innovation projects, ensuring cross-functional alignment, timely execution, and effective risk management across the portfolio

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5–8 years of experience in project/program management in CPG, beauty, or retail.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.
  •  Experience with stage-gate, agile, or hybrid product development frameworks.
  •  Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to lead without authority.
  • Proficient in project management tools (e.g., Monday.com, Smartsheet, Asana, or MS Project).
  • PMP or similar certification is a plus.
